The poem Nous sommes sept by Jean Aicard was undertitled “d’après Wordsworth” (after Wordsworth). Indeed, William Wordsworth wrote a poem entitled We are Seven, it is the 10th (in the first Volume) of the collection Lyrical Ballads, With a Few Other Poems published by William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge in 1798. Both William Wordsworth (b. 7 April 1770, d. 23 April 1850) and Samuel Taylor Coleridge (b. 21 October 1772, d. 25 July 1834) are major English Romantic poets. CONTINUE READING…
